Mazafati Date is one of the most wildly known
of all date types cultivated in Iran and is best for fresh consumption due to
its high moisture content which is 15% to 20%
and varies based on the two factors of
planting area and harvest time. Mazafati date is purple brown black in
color and 2.5 to 4.5 cm in size.
It should be kept in the refrigerator due to
its moist and juicy texture. Kerman and Sistan Baluchestan provinces in the
Southern areas of the Iran are the main suppliers of this kind of date.
Mazafati date
is packed with group A and B vitamins, iron, phosphorus and potassium.
It boosts energy, improves the function of muscles, treats constipation,
controls stomach acid, contains natural sugars and is absolutely cholesterol
free.
